If those songs weren't more than awful teenage poetry drown out by three chords,
either I didn't notice or I just didn't care.
And if those nights weren't more,
than kids crammed into basements seeing show cause they were bored.
Well I'm still glad that they were there.
Because the scene was rad as hell,
even if it wasn't real.
And we did it all ourselves,
for kids like us that's a big deal.
And we made songs we love to sing,
we built a scene that we were proud of.
When no one else was even listening,
when punk was just another thing that everyone grew out of.
